Arm Linkages for Wind Turbine Application
This project involved reverse engineering worn OEM arm linkages used in a wind turbine application. Working with an industrial supply partner, the degraded components were translated into updated CAD models suitable for replacement fabrication, providing a lower-cost alternative to OEM sourcing.
Updated CAD models were developed from worn OEM linkage components to recover the intended geometry and support replacement-part fabrication.
Original field components showed substantial corrosion, wear, and surface degradation, requiring engineering judgment to distinguish service damage from the intended design geometry.
Side-profile inspection helped define the forked linkage geometry, thickness, spacing, and transition features needed to reconstruct a functional replacement component.
